European Accessibility Study 2026

We ran an automated accessibility scan of 12,457 homepages across all 27 EU member states, four independent, fully deterministic layers, no AI involved. It comes in two separate samples that are never pooled: providers covered by the European Accessibility Act, and local businesses of any trade. Both found 100% of assessed sites with at least one detectable barrier and about 76% with a critical one. The full study, with every result, chart, source and the complete methodology, is live in German. An English translation is in progress.
